The Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) Program is proud to announce its recent approval by the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (EMSRB) to provide National Continued Competency Requirements (NCCR) components for EMS providers who complete the CALS online training and 2-day in-person course to fulfill the National Registry requirements for EMTs and Paramedics.

This approval enables CALS to deliver the same high-quality, nationally recognized continuing education, designed to meet the recertification needs of emergency medical technicians (EMTs), advanced EMTs (AEMTs), and Paramedics. By providing NCCR components, CALS strengthens its mission to enhance emergency care in rural and resource-limited communities through accessible, comprehensive, and advanced training.

“We are honored to be approved by the Minnesota Office of Emergency Medical Services to offer NCCR components for our EMS customers,” said Ann Gihl, Executive Director of the CALS Program“This designation expands our ability to support EMS professionals across Minnesota, ensuring they remain current in their certifications and are prepared to deliver the best possible care to patients in critical situations.”

The CALS Program has long been recognized for its innovative and practical approach to advanced life support training, with a particular focus on the unique challenges faced by rural healthcare providers. By offering the NCCR education components for EMS, CALS continues to close training gaps and provide essential resources for frontline emergency responders.
