After completing the Advanced Life Support Course, you’ll be able to:

  1. Demonstrate high-quality basic life support skills, including high-quality chest compressions, effective ventilations, and use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator). 
  2. Apply concepts of effective teamwork when caring for a patient experiencing a cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, or respiratory emergency. 
  3. Integrate advanced communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills when responding as part of a team to a cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, or respiratory emergency.  
  4. Effectively assess a cardiovascular, cerebrovascular of respiratory emergency situation using a systematic approach. 
  5. Quickly recognize the nature of a cardiovascular, cerebrovascular or respiratory emergency 
  6. Provide effective and appropriate advanced life support care to address a cardiovascular, cerebrovascular or respiratory emergency. 
  7. Provide effective and appropriate care after a return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) during a resuscitation effort.   

The ALS/ACLS course is great for:

  • Rural or Resource-Limited Hospitals and Emergency Departments
  • Experienced providers, advanced practice providers, and other medical professionals who need ALS/ACLS certification
  • Medical students or recent graduates seeking their first ALS/ACLS certification
  • Locum tenens or travel nurses who don’t get ALS/ACLS certification from their employer
  • Any healthcare professional seeking continuing education and training for advanced life support

Prerequisite: Basic Life Support (BLS)
