This year’s National Rural Health Association Outstanding Educator Award recipient is Dr. Darrell Carter, co-founder of Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS). Dr. Carter’s 54-year career as a family practice physician exemplifies extraordinary dedication to rural healthcare, clinical excellence, and transformative educational leadership. His vision has delivered education to nearly 17,000 healthcare professionals across 17 states and multiple countries through the CALS program.
